Evil Spirits Are Obedient to Jesus’ Words

In 1 Samuel 19:9 an evil spirit from the Lord came upon Saul. Evil spirits are obedient to Jesus’ words! The Lord rejected Saul from being His king in 1 Samuel 15:23 because of disobedience. If we attempt to gain favor with God apart from obeying Jesus, we will likewise be rejected.

The Lord’s Spirit left King Saul and was replaced by an evil spirit from the Lord. Evil spirits and demons are subject to the Lord’s command. Matt 8:28, Luke 8:26. He makes a way for us to escape! 1 Cor 10:13 & James 4:7. This gift of peace and deliverance from evil and demonic influence can only be experienced when we repent and trust in Jesus. What is repentance?

The Testing of Job

In the book of Job, God allowed testing with parameters which limited the testing procedure. Job was tested and proven! Satan and his horde of demons are controlled by God! They are turned loose upon mankind so as to achieve God’s plan and His purpose. If a person has repented and is trusting in Jesus as Lord and Savior, then that person shouldn’t worry about evil spirits and demons. Resist and rebuke! They have no place in your life or your house. If one shows up, it must leave! The only reason that God will allow it to stay is because of some form of disobedience, just as in Saul’s case. Or, possibly some sort of testing as in Job’s case. The key to getting rid of it is confession and repentance if pertinent, loving Jesus and standing strong on the rock of faith in Jesus!

In Luke 10:19, Jesus said, behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. In other words, rejoice because of your love for and relationship with Jesus!

James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you!

Remember Romans 8:28. We know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose. Is there something going on in your life that you just don’t understand? Do you love Jesus? Are you adhering to His words? Then it will all work out for the good! In times of trial draw close to Him!
