New Evolutionary biology confirms the Genesis account
There is a new way to think about evolution. We’ve all seen the diagram of beast turning into man. Archeology does not show a chain of progress as in the diagram though. New evidence paints a different picture. Paleontologists keep digging up new human ancestors. What we now see is a diverse entanglement of many distinct creatures that interbred and not a chain of progressive evolution as presented in the past. All of these supposed human ancestors disappeared by about 35,000 years ago.
Original creation and re-creation
Genesis chapter one. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The word created in this verse is the Hebrew word “bara”. It means creating something out of nothing. Only God has the capacity for this type of creation. The Hebrew word “asa” means the assembling together of existing materials. When we create, we use things or materials that have already been created and reassemble them into something useful. Much of creation in the Genesis account is an “asa” creation or reassembling of previous creation into something meaningful. Genesis one, verse two. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. The earth has been created but was without form and void. Afterward God fashions it into something meaningful.
How long was the earth without form and void before God commenced his handiwork? We don’t know. The bible doesn’t say. The verse one “bara” creative account could very well have included angelic beings, plant life and various life forms. It has even been suggested that Satan ruled over the earth during this time. Ezekiel 28:12-15. Verse two, and the earth was without form. Another possible Hebrew rendering would be; and the earth became without form, and void. How did it become without form and void? Perhaps at Satan’s rebellion God’s wrath was poured out and the earth was put in a deep freeze. Frozen over and set aside. Maybe it was the time of a great ice age.
The Ice Age
There is a lot of evidence that shows the earth emerging from an ice age seven to ten thousand years ago. Man in his present form has been here about six thousand years since the time of Adam. Genesis 1:1 would be original creation. This could include all the different life forms that we see in the fossil record. Human-like bones, dinosaurs, ancient animals, etc. The rest of Genesis would be re-creative days. God is now re-forming the earth in order to place man, which will be created in His image, upon the earth.
